The Center of Organic Agriculture, the Institute of Land Management and Rural Development (Vietnam National University of Forestry), in collaboration with the Farmers' Union of Son La Province, the Farmers' Union of Van Ho District, and the Farmers' Union of Moc Chau District, have implemented the "Sampling of soil, water, and organic agricultural products according to PGS standards" activity to analyze heavy metals residues in soil and products according to the PGS Vietnam standards.
The Cooperatives/Cooperative Groups involved in organic production in Van Ho District include: A Cao Agricultural Cooperative, Phieng Ngan Clean Fruit Cooperative, and Van Ho RETREAT Cooperative. In Moc Chau District, they include: Tu Nhien Safe Vegetable Cooperative and Dong Sang Organic Agricultural Cooperative.
This activity is part of the project "Enhancing the capacity of forest and farm production organizations in producing and managing quality, certifying products linked to climate change adaptation in Northern Mountainous Provinces of Vietnam," under the Forests and Farm Facility Phase 2 (FFF2) program for 2024-2025, funded by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

The sampling activity not only helps assess the safety levels of soil, water, and organic agricultural products according to the PGS Vietnam standards but also supports cooperatives and cooperative groups in improving production quality, aiming for sustainable development. The analysis results will serve as an important scientific basis to improve farming practices, ensure food safety, and enhance the brand value of organic agricultural products in Van Ho and Moc Chau.
